Today I turned 54.

It feels like time moves faster every year. When I was younger, a year seemed to last forever. Now it feels like I blink, and another birthday is here.

To be honest, I have never been someone who is very excited about birthdays. I do not need a big celebration. But taking a moment to enjoy a piece of cake and spend time with the people who matter is always worth it.

Today my family and a few close friends will come by. I do not have a large circle of friends in real life, and I am perfectly happy with that. I would rather have a few people with whom I have a real and meaningful connection than many people who are only around sometimes.

That does not mean I do not appreciate the people I have met online. I truly enjoy connecting with people who share the same interests, and I am grateful for everyone who follows my journey.

So today I will enjoy some cake, good conversations, and another year of life.
